June 6 – Give Them What You Have…
Scripture Reading: 2 Samuel 9:1-10:19 / Acts 3:1-26 / Psalm 70:1-5
What do you have to give? Peter and John were asked by a crippled beggar for silver or gold, they didn’t have any so they gave him what they had. They just had an encounter with The Holy Spirit and He filled them with supernatural power. They told the man to look at them and Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” (Acts 3:6) Peter took the man’s hand, helped him up and instantly the man was healed.
Everyone who saw and heard the beggar’s testimony was filled with wonder and amazement. He became a mighty witness for the early church as he gave clear and powerful testimony to the healing power of Jesus Christ. All because two men gave him what they had and what God had for him…
At times we feel like we have nothing to give. Financially, emotionally or physically we may be broke or exasperated. Even spiritually, we may feel drained or empty. There are some things in life that are out of our control but we can always be full and refreshed by God’s Spirit. Sometimes it takes a great deal of boldness to step out in faith and operate in the supernatural realm of The Spirit.
The next time you see or face a need, ask The Holy Spirit what He wants to do in the situation. He is not intimidated or inferior to any power or stronghold. If you are empty, get filled up with Him. He dwells inside of us to empower us for witness and miracles. Remember, we only give what we have…He takes it from there!
