Declaration
of Vision
We, the congregation of Calvary Assembly of God, envision
a future marked by Pentecostal anointing, powerful ministry
and passionate outreach. Like the six pillars of our sanctuary,
our vision will flow out of the six-fold spiritual pillars
of our church:
The Word, The Spirit, Discipleship, Ministry, Love and Evangelism.
1. THE WORD
We desire to see God make our church a SAVING PLACE where
the grace of God flows freely, convicting people of their
sin and drawing them by His love. We pray that lives will
be transformed by the power of the Cross and for the altars
to be filled with hungry and receptive hearts, seeking for
more of Him. Our church will be a church where God’s
Word will be the priority in our preaching, teaching and
ministry. We will reclaim our Pentecostal heritage, yielding
ourselves and inviting the Biblically based anointing and
gifts of the Holy Spirit to unashamedly flow.
2. THE SPIRIT
We will surrender ourselves sacrificially and earnestly
seek an atmosphere where people can come with expectancy
and participate freely in worship. We will be a WORSHIPING
PLACE where the Holy Spirit will be welcomed and sovereignly
flow throughout. We will celebrate our Exalted Lord through
exuberant, Spirit led worship with congregation, musicians,
and voices in one accord. We will cultivate a heart to follow
the Lord Jesus and yield to the use and flow of His gifts.
3. DISCIPLESHIP
We must be responsible to God for the souls He places in
our care. We are commissioned to disciple the spiritually
young, feeble and weak. Calvary Assembly will be a GROWING
PLACE for all believers. New convert equipping is critical
and is not restricted to a class, but demands the input
of every believer. We will strive for excellence in our
equipping ministries of Sunday School, Kid’s Church,
Family Night Ministries, and Youth Ministries. We must not
forget the needs of the home, equipping parents and single
parents with Biblical and practical resources. We will emphasize
the importance or stewardship and be known for a giving
spirit of our time, talents and tithes.
4. MINISTRY
We will be diligent in ministry, making Calvary Assembly
a SERVING PLACE , "always abounding in the Work of
the Lord." We will not only serve the Body of Christ,
we will serve our community with a heart of compassion and
a hand of generosity. We will serve by faithfully supporting
the food pantry, crisis centers, outreach stations and nursing
homes. We will always keep our doors open to the community
and needy, endeavoring the serve with the love of the Lord.
We will join hands with local congregations, leading united
efforts of prayer, special services, outreach and ministry.
We will commit our efforts to train our leaders and those
called into ministry. We will become a training center for
equipping leaders, altar workers, ushers, Sunday School
workers, Children’s workers and those called to full-time
ministry. We will diligently pursue this by encouraging
attendance at ministry schools of higher learning and provide
church instruction, encouragement, mentoring and accountability.
We will Endeavor to provide the best facilities possible
for continued and effective ministry. We will strive to
complete and improve our facilities, recognizing the urgency
of our ministry needs. We must properly care for the facilities
which God has given us, respecting His blessing and revering
His House. We are willing to Pursue The Vision by expanding
and building new facilities as the Lord directs. We are
driven by a spirit of stewardship and will prayerful plan
and pursue an expedient debt retirement program.
5. LOVE
Everything that we say and do must be done in the Spirit
of God’s Love. By our love, others will know our hearts
and recognize our church to be a CARING PLACE. We will be
a place of healing, nurturing, and acceptance. As our church
grows we will seek to organize our care outreach in such
a way that every person will be included: Senior adults,
single moms, young married’s, and other special interest
groups. We will extend not only a hand of welcome to visitors,
but a hand of compassion as well. We will endeavor to keep
the spirit of unity strong, dealing with division in a spirit
of love and firmness. Our hope is to care for our children
in a more effective way through the addition of Pastoral
staff. "Suffer the little children to come unto me….."
6. EVANGELISM
We will not only be motivated to discipleship and ministry,
we will continue to be known as the REACHING PLACE. Reaching
out to a world that is lost and in need of a Savior. We
must be driven by a Godly passion to urgently and effectively
present the gospel message through lifestyle evangelism,
street ministry and door to door ministry. We want to be
known outside these walls as a church who cares for and
reaches the lost, no matter their walk of life. We will
strive for excellence and expand our drama, music and evangelistic
outreaches. We will give added support to spreading of the
gospel by increasing our awareness and financial commitment
for missions around the world. God will bless a church that
is faithful in reaching the lost.
